From the 80's to Modern Country Style
I had the opportunity to remodel my parents’ kitchen in Rhode Island. The 30 year old particle board cabinets were falling apart and the style was outdated. In their place I built our high-quality cabinets, with shaker-style doors and drawer fronts, and added crown moulding. The soffit was removed to maximize cabinet space. Other new modern features of this kitchen are a built-in refridgerator, pull-out drawers in the base cabinets, and undermount LED strip cabinet lights.
I lacquered everything in an off-white color to brighten up the whole room and to set a contrast to the black granite countertops. The wainscot backsplash was reinstalled to correspond with the dining room. Updated recessed ceiling lights and the bronze pulls finish off the modern country style.
